Great Job Hunting Websites

by Pam on June 29, 2012

I am in the process of looking for a job and one of the best websites I have come across so far is indeed.com.  The site makes it very easy to search and it’s like a one-stop shop.  Rather than having to go to several individual sites, it incorporates results across several different job sites including extremejobs.ca, jobbank.gc.ca, etc.

Indeed.com also has neat advanced search features including the feature that allows you only view new jobs since your last visit.  This function saves me a ton of time as I have so many other things on the go besides job hunting.

Note the advanced job search functions below:

Advanced Job Search
Find Jobs
With all of these words
With the exact phrase
With at least one of these words
With none of these words
With these words in the title
From this company
Show jobs of type
Show jobs from
 Exclude staffing agencies
Where and When
Location  (city or province)
Age – Jobs published
Display   results per page, sorted by

To save time, I usually type the words “French” and “bilingual” in the “With none of these words section” in order to avoid having to look at jobs that I wouldn’t qualify for.   Although indeed.com does not cover every job site available online, it does do an extensive search for you.  Other sites that I have found helpful include workopolis.com and Peter’s New Jobs.

Good luck on your job hunt.  Wish me luck, too.
