Pennysaverblog 100 Day Challenge Update 3

There are 58 days remaining for my 100-Day Challenge.   I have been doing pretty well, considering the weather is getting beautiful, and my motivation to keep entertainment spending at bay is more difficult now that I am more prone to want to go out.  I have discovered that it is a lot easier to save money during the winter when all I want to do after work is go home and stay warm.

Exercising for 15 minutes a day has been really good for me so far.  I make a point to go for a walk, a bike ride, or just exercise inside for at least 15 minutes and it seems to be making a difference.  I still feel really out of shape, but I think if I persist with regular exercise, even after this challenge is over, I will not regret it.

My entertainment budget dropped by another $20 as my husband and I went for the all you can eat crab legs buffet again.  I’m down to just $60 that I can spend for the remainder of the challenge.  I am pretty confident that I will be able to stay within my budget, as long as I am careful.

We sold a few more items from around the house but other than that I haven’t proactively sought out ways to earn extra income.  I have not had any more opportunities to do online surveys and I have not been signing up to work any overtime.  It is hard to be motivated to work extra hours right now with the nice weather and the outdoors calling.

I have still held to my commitment to not buy unnecessary items.  In fact, my grocery bill was below my allotted budget this month!  That does not happen very often so I was impressed.

This past while we have spent a lot of money on car maintenance, bicycles, and bicycle equipment, so we have definitely spent more than half of what we earned, but now that we have all the stuff we need for our bicycles, we should be able to spend only half of what we earn going forward for the remainder of this challenge.

Well, thanks again for reading.  I will post another update soon
