Tired Of The Status Quo? Consider Living On A Boat

by Pam on December 19, 2010

We all have our own ideas about life and what it is supposed to be like.  We often expect everyone’s life to be pretty much the same, following the status quo in a certain sequence – get an education, get a job, get married, have kids, and then eventually retire.  But not everyone is satisfied with the status quo.

Take for instance, Captain Keith.  He and his family decided that they wanted to live on a boat at sea rather than continue with their humdrum life.  Although living in a boat is certainly not appropriate for every family, so far it seems to be working well for his.  Apparently it is a really inexpensive lifestyle that gives you freedom you have never dreamed of.

One thing Captain Keith emphasizes is the difficulties he and his family faced in giving up so much of their stuff.  They had to learn to live without a lot of the things that once seemed like a necessity.

Although living on a boat doesn’t really have any long-term appeal to me, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t a lot of people out there who have had this dream, but never thought it was possible.

If you are one of those adventurous sorts who just needed that extra encouragement, well, check out Captain Keith’s tips and get started on your own great adventure out on the sea.  Captain Keith is living proof that it is possible to pursue your dreams, no matter how strange they may be.

Happy sailing!
