How To Make Mortgage Shopping Easy

by Pam on December 13, 2010

If your mortgage is up for renewal soon, or you are looking to buy a new home, you will want to do some research in order to find the best possible mortgage rate.  For Canadians, I would recommend that you check out the Ratesupermarket website.  It is very easy to use and once you fill in some basic information, it will find the results in your local area quickly.

The results will include the approximate amount of your monthly payments, how much interest you would expect to pay throughout the mortgage term assuming the rate remains the same, and more.

If you click on the Get Details button, you will also find specific information about the particular mortgage such as whether or not it is portable, whether or not it is assumable, and other details such as if you can skip a payment, etc.

This is a much quicker way to find out information than going to every financial institution’s site individually.  You can compare up to three different mortgages at the same time to get a better idea as to the pros and cons of each mortgage.  I wish I had known about this website before as I could have saved so much time and energy if I had.

There are also some great mortgage tips you will want to read through before you go mortgage shopping.  Check out their handy mortgage calculator as well.

I was so impressed to find so much great information about mortgages on one website.  It is like a one-stop-shop for finding the best possible mortgage to meet your needs.  Take a few minutes and skim this website before making any major mortgage decisions.  It will be worth your time.
