When it comes to insurance companies, it is really important to make sure you are getting your money’s worth when you make a claim. I was recently in a car accident on my way home from work. In order to ensure that I received the full insurance benefits, I immediately got in touch with my insurance provider and asked specific questions.
I found out that I was entitled to a courtesy vehicle because the accident was not my fault. I also discovered that I could claim my injuries and that the insurance company would cover any medical expenses incurred as well as any time I miss from work due to my injuries. The representatives I spoke with were reluctant but I was persistent and eventually was able to get everything I had asked for.

And it’s not just car insurance companies that can require a lot of persistence. My dental insurance through work doesn’t always pay up when I make a claim. My most recent experience was frustrating as I had a root canal performed on one of my teeth. First, they rejected the claim because they said they had records indicating that this particular tooth had been extracted. When I called to follow up, they admitted that they had made a mistake.
The second root canal procedure I had done, they told me they never received the claim, so I had to contact my dentist and ask them to send it again. If it weren’t for me being on their case, I would never have been reimbursed. It took a month but I finally received my claim payment.
Make sure to be persistent and proactive when it comes to any type of insurance claims you file. Insurance companies are supposed to be there to protect you and give you peace of mind, so make sure they meet your needs and expectations. Never be passive with insurance companies, You will be surprised at just how much you will benefit by asking the right questions.
