We all have our own hobbies, talents, and things that we just enjoy doing. Sometimes, we can even make a little money from that very thing that we enjoy the most.
We’ll give you a list of hobbies below that you can make money from, and how you can do just that. But first, come up with a list of your own. Think of all the activities and hobbies that you enjoy doing. Write them down. As you read this article, see if there are ways that you can get your favorite things to make your some extra cash.
Sewing
Do you have a knack for sewing? If you find yourself leaning to this skill to make all of your birthday and Christmas presents, maybe you take it to the next step to make a small income out of it.
Is there something unique that you make that friends and family come to you for? That would be a great item to put into an Etsy shop or to make and sell in holiday bazaars and local fairs.
Another way to make money with sewing is to offer reparation services. Find out if there’s a need in your community for mending clothes, and if so, why not go for it? You can offer your services on a small scale in the Facebook marketplace, or if you find there’s a large enough need for it, open your own business.
A final way you can make money sewing is to find a job that offers that service. There are places like the Development Workshop that do sewing jobs on an industrial level for businesses on a national scale.
Gaming
Even those who are really into video games can make money doing what they love. If you consider yourself good enough to be a pro gamer, then start recording your screen while you play and upload it to YouTube or live stream on Twitch. How many of you love garage sales and second hand stores? You can find some pretty neat things that way! And yes, it is possible to turn around and make money from this wonderful hobby of yours.
There are a couple ways you can make money with thrift shopping.
First, you can find less than appealing items like clothing and furniture for dirt cheap and upcycle them into something unique and beautiful. You can start your own shop of upcycled items to sell, or sell one item at a time for some extra cash in the Facebook marketplace as you find time for it.
The other thing you can do is keep an eye out for rare items that are worth a lot more than the thrift store or garage sale is selling them for. If you have an eye for unique treasures, you can find them for cheap and then turn around and sell them for the actual value of the item to a collector.
Sports
For those of you who are really into sports (and enjoy being around children), you might consider becoming a coach or referee. Especially in smaller communities, it seems there is always a need for new coaches and referees at the elementary and middle school levels. There is such a large turn around since oftentimes it is the parents coaching their own kids, so they stop when their kid gets to the next level.
This is a great way to be involved with something that you love and give back to the community, all while making a nice little paycheck too.
