A Reason To Shop At Shoppers Drug Mart

I  seldom buy anything at Shoppers Drug Mart as I can usually get everything I need at Superstore, but the few times I have gone to Shoppers, I discovered that they provide great incentives there whenever you spend a specific amount of money.  For example, just recently my husband and I went to pick up some special toothbrushes there and because we spent more than $75 we got a $20 gift card for Boston Pizza.  Nice!

Apply For Credit When You Do Not Need It

When it comes to using credit, it is really important to always be thinking ahead.  Remember, when you need credit you won’t likely be able to get it, so when you are working full time and things seem to be going your way financially, this is the ideal time to be applying for credit.

Take Joe for example.  He is a 30 -year -old full time truck driver.  He is earning $60,000 per year and life is good.  He never bothers to apply for a credit card or a credit line because he is able to comfortably live off of his income.  Then, tragedy strikes and he gets laid off from work.  He soon depletes all of his excess cash flow and suddenly finds himself strapped for cash.

Ways To Reduce Your Taxes

Canadians pay a lot of income tax and any way that we can find to reduce our tax bill is a major plus.  Yahoo! Finance has a really great article titled “Slash Your Taxes” that I would recommend you read before filing your taxes this year.

The majority of the tips discussed in the article focus on how spouses can effectively split their incomes in order to reduce the taxes owing for the highest wage earner.  Examples include using a spousal RSP, having the lower wage earner opening sole-owned investments, and lending money to the lower wage earner spouse so they can invest.
