Camping At Walmart Can Save You Money

Recently my husband and I decided to take a trip to Destin, Florida in order to enjoy one last glimpse of summer sun before the winter drudge kicked in.  Driving from St. Louis, Missouri to Destin, Florida takes about fourteen hours and costs around $200 in gas money. A flight to Destin would cost over $300 for each person and include several layovers. Taking the car seemed like a much more affordable option than flying, but I was worried about driving non-stop through several states.

Shop Alone And Save On Groceries

With the increased cost of food prices these days, everything we can do to save a little is worth a try.  I have been reading various articles that provide tips on saving on groceries, and many of them suggest that when you shop you should go alone.

I would have to agree.  I usually do my grocery shopping once every two weeks and I usually go alone.  When I do, I know exactly what I have already got, and what I still need to pick up.   I feel like I can take as much time as I want without worrying about anyone else.

We lucked out when we found a Travel Park that actually allowed for tent camping.  We were traveling through southern California and we needed some R & R.  We found a place in Bakersfield that allowed us to not only pitch our tent but we only had to pay $15!
